the challenge

AKT London is a heritage brand born in London's West End, built by performers who needed products that could hold up under stage lights, eight shows a week. That story is a gift for TikTok. But the brand was starting on TikTok Shop from a standing start: no affiliate base, no live-selling history and no proven playbook for turning West End heritage into content that converts.

The brief was to launch and scale, fast, without flattening what makes AKT distinctive. A heritage brand that launches like a commodity becomes one. The margin for error was small: month one of a TikTok Shop launch sets the trajectory for everything after it, because early momentum is what the algorithm, the affiliates and the audience all respond to.

the approach

We ran the launch as one engine across four disciplines: strategic live-streaming, affiliate partnerships, content creation and ad management. Each discipline fed the others, but the affiliate programme led the charge, because on TikTok Shop it is creators who introduce a new brand to the audience that buys it.

creators cast for brand fit

Rather than chasing follower counts, we identified creators whose style and audience aligned with AKT's West End heritage, then backed that judgement with product. Strategic gifting put 100 samples a week into the hands of high-quality creators, so the people best placed to tell the brand's story always had something to tell it with. Top performers were moved onto retainer agreements to keep the winning content coming.

viral-hook briefs

Every brief was built around a hook with a job to do. When a piece of AKT content took off, we treated it as data: the hook was identified, adapted into new creator briefs and scaled across the community, so one viral moment became a repeatable marketing angle instead of a one-off. It is the same test-and-scale loop we detail in our TikTok Shop affiliate guide, and the core of our affiliate and influencer management service.

content and amplification

Around the affiliate engine, our content team gave AKT its own voice on the platform, while ad management put paid spend behind proven videos rather than guesses. Live-streaming added a direct selling channel on top, so every part of the ecosystem pointed at the same outcome: shop revenue.

the results

Month one delivered 1,470% shop-revenue growth. Within two months, the affiliate programme alone had generated $100k in GMV, and affiliates went on to drive 85% of the brand's GMV. For a brand starting from a standing start, that is not a promising early signal. It is a channel already carrying real revenue, built in weeks rather than years.

The launch proved the thesis: brand fit is not a soft metric. Creators who genuinely matched AKT's heritage produced the hooks that travelled, and a disciplined gifting and briefing engine turned those hooks into revenue at a pace no cold launch could match. AKT arrived on TikTok Shop as itself, and grew faster because of it.
